SpecialisationProduction of high quality lubricants
In 1936 Orvema started as a manufacturer of lubricants. With almost one hundred years of experience, the company has since grown into a modern ISO 9001:2015 certified production company in lubricants and coolants, among other things. Orvema's production and storage facility has a production capacity of 75,000 litres per day and a storage capacity of almost 1 million litres.
To grow, we need to digitise more
"Orvema wants to continue working on efficiency and grow to the top of Europe," says Bernlef van der Meer, owner of Orvema. "This means that we have to continue to take a good look at all business processes. We want to digitise as much as possible so that unnecessary manual work is a thing of the past. One of these processes is planning.
Planning in Excel and on paper is time-consuming
Bernlef continues: "Many of these internal processes have been digitised using Exact Online, but concerning planning, we still used Excel and on the production floor the paper packing slips. The planning in Excel was a very time-consuming job. Besides, a paper packing slip was sometimes lost or so dirty that it was no longer legible".
"This had to be done differently," adds David Estie. David works as Manager Operations at Orvema. "We came into contact with vPlan via the App Center of Exact Online. We quickly received a demo and the product fitted right up our street. The implementation went very quickly".
"We now know exactly how orders are progressing and have more control over our capacity."
With vPlan everything goes digital
David continues: "Orders come from Exact automatically in vPlan. This means that we do not have to enter this data manually and everyone works with the same data. Because the orders in the planning of vPlan can easily be shared with the work floor, we also said goodbye to the paperwork orders. Also, we have gained even more advantages, we now know exactly how orders are progressing and we have more control over our capacity".
"The vPlan system fits well with our strategy. It works efficiently and is well-organised. It is easy to use and that is exactly what we need. I can certainly recommend it to other companies, which still plan in spreadsheets or on paper. It has saved us a lot of time," concludes David.
